Our Team

We are a small team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about helping others. From clinical staff to board members – we love what we do, and we look forward to sharing our journey with you.

Edwin Schild (BA, MSc)

Executive Director

Ed has extensive experience in designing, consulting and running various treatment modalities, including residential treatment group and foster homes. He has trained many interns over the years and has taught multiple courses at conferences across North America. Ed has devoted a lot of his work toward various committee and board engagements over the years. He continues his administrative duties while also seeing clients at Regesh.

Mykaela Miersch (Social Service Worker Graduate)

Program Facilitator & Teacher

Mykaela teaches and facilitates our Youth Employment Program, EYER, proudly funded by the Government of Canada. For her, the best part of working at Regesh is that she sees her students authentically engage and come out of their shells. Mykaela feels inspired to make a difference in their lives by helping them grow as individuals. An alumni from the Social Service Worker Program at Niagara College, Mykaela has passionately worked with youth in foster homes and group homes for the past 4 years.

Heather Haines (Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying))

Intern

Heather is completing her student placement at Regesh Family and Child Services for her MA program requirements. She is passionate about working with clients for anxiety and anger management and clients within the LGBTQ+ community. Her therapy approach, and education to this point, is centred on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). However, she is also schooled in, and has experience with using, techniques from different modalities including mindfulness, client-centered, and solution-focus therapies. She believes that the client is the expert of their own lives and therapy is a collaborative process. Before beginning her MA in Counselling Psychology, Heather volunteered as a peer counsellor supporting sexual assault survivors and those within their support network both on a crisis phone-line and in one-on-one peer counselling.

Making changes in life can be exciting, scary, difficult, and rewarding. Heather is eager to work with you to realize your goals.

To book an appointment please email heather@regesh.com or call and/or leave a message at 416-495-8832 ext.225.
